Ok, hear me out. Was this the best written fantasy I have ever read? Short answer...no. Should you still give it a read? Absolutely. What it lacked in some areas it definitely made up for in entertainment, an intriguing plot and a great cast of characters. The found family trope was done so well and the loyalty between certain characters was top notch. If you love deadly trials, this will have you flipping those pages. I feel like this book is an amazing foundation for the next book in the series and the way it ended? I need answers!!
